Today, the village of Uffington is very much a mixture of old and new.  The village has fine examples of old chalkstone buildings, many still thatched. Infilling is evident where similar buildings have not survived and have been replaced. More recently, the original village has expanded with the addition of modern housing developments.

Information on the full history of the village can be found on the Museum website. Indeed the Museum building (open Easter to October on weekend afternoons) and the adjacent Church are well worth a visit.

The map above shows the layout of the village, its roads and footpaths and provides the basis for a stroll. Complete road and house names/numbers maps.
